Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

Scholarships are available for B.Tech applicants based on their Class 12 percentage, JEE Mains exam results, or CUET scores.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Scholarships for BBA applicants are awarded based on merit, specifically through Class 12 results or CUET scores.

Merit Based Scholarships: Applicants will be awarded scholarships through 12th score or performance in JK-DET and portfolio round.

Terms & Conditions

  • Students who achieve a 90 percentile or higher in the JK-DET and score 4 or more in the portfolio review are eligible for a 50% scholarship.
  • Students who meet only one of the above criteria (either scoring high in JK-DET or achieving a high score in the portfolio review) will be eligible for a 25% scholarship.
  • Students are not permitted to combine scholarships from JK-DET and Class 12 scores; only one scholarship can be availed.

National Design Entrance Exams

  • Applicants who do not qualify for a scholarship through the JKDET but surpass a predetermined cutoff in the NID, NIFT, or UCEED entrance exams will be granted a 25% scholarship on the academic fee. The specific cutoffs for these exams are yet to be determined.
  • Note that only one scholarship will apply, based on the highest achievement in either the JKDET, NID, NIFT, or UCEED entrance exams. Scholarships from multiple sources cannot be combined.

Other Scholarships
  • Sibling/Alumni: A 20% scholarship will be awarded to applicants who are siblings of JKLU students or alumni, or alumni pursuing a second degree.
  • Single Girl Child: Single girl children with no siblings will be eligible for a 10% scholarship.
  • Special Category: A 10% scholarship will be awarded to applicants who are wards of defense personnel, SC/ST, differently abled students, students from Northeast, Union Territories, and students from JKO schools.
  • Extra-Curricular and Co-Curricular: A special committee will evaluate and award scholarships on a case-by-case basis to applicants demonstrating exceptional performance in sports or other areas.
  • Special Circumstances: Awarded on a case-by-case basis, subject to governing body approval, this scholarship supports wards of JKLU staff, entities of the JK Organisation, or applicants not covered by the above categories.

Considerations

  • Scholarship Allocation: If a student qualifies for more than one scholarship, only the scholarship with the highest value will be applied, as combining multiple scholarships is not permitted.
  • Sibling/Alumni Discount: Siblings of JKLU alumni who have graduated with a full-time degree are eligible for a 20% discount. This discount applies only to new enrollments and does not extend to siblings who are already enrolled.
  • Scholarship Applicability: Scholarships are exclusively applicable to academic fees.

Scholarship Continuation

At JK Lakshmipat University, scholarships for the subsequent academic years depend on the student's performance in the program. Below is the breakdown of the CGPA requirements and corresponding scholarship percentages:

Students must achieve a minimum CGPA of 8.0 to qualify for a scholarship in the next academic year. This policy applies only to incoming students and does not affect current students, who remain subject to the scholarship terms in place at the time of their admission.

Role of Disciplinary Committees

The Disciplinary Committee and the Unfair Means Committee have the authority to alter or terminate scholarships based on violations of academic or disciplinary standards. The consequences of such breaches are as follows:
  • First Offense: Reduction of scholarship to the next lower percentage level.
  • Second Offense: Complete revocation of the scholarship.
These committees have the discretion to either maintain the scholarship in cases of minor infractions or remove it entirely on a first serious offense. This policy ensures that scholarships are awarded in a manner that upholds the integrity and standards of JK Lakshmipat University.

Criteria for scholarship Scholarship

Note: Those students who are eligible under the above two criteria and they are eligible for other scholarship schemes of JKLU as well, shall be awarded a scholarship, whichever is higher.
FOR B.Tech. Programmes
  • Minimum 70% aggregate marks in both Class X & XII for B.Tech. (CSE) and 65 % for B.Tech. (ME & ECE). For class X marks, five subjects will be considered. Four compulsory subjects are English, Maths, Social Studies, and Science. In case, 10th board has more than five subjects, the fifth subject will be of applicant’s choice. For Class XII marks, four subjects will be considered. These four are:  English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths. In case, 12th board has more than four subjects, marks in additional subjects will not be considered or equivalent grades from a recognized Central/State Board/University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Students appearing in the final examination of 10+2 may also apply. However, the admission will be provisional subject to achieving the minimum marks.
  • Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin/Non-Resident Indian candidates can be considered for admission on the basis of their marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination only.
  • It may however be noted that possessing minimum qualification does not guarantee admission. University carries out a holistic evaluation of all achievements and takes a decision accordingly. The median 12th class marks among students admitted to Engineering last year was around 85%.
  • As part of holistic evaluation of student applications, in case of exceptional students, VC may approve a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum requirement for a programme.
FOR M.Tech. Programmes
  • The scholarship offered by JKLU is applicable for the duration of the programme, subject to maintaining the required CGPA.
    • Applicants qualifying GATE, will be eligible for 100% scholarship on Academic Fee.
    • Applicants with exceptional achievements will be eligible for maximum 50% scholarship on Academic Fee.

    For scholarship in the second year, students must secure a CGPA of 7.5 or higher in the first year.

For BCA Programme
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in both Class X & XII (For class X compulsory subjects are English, Maths, Social Studies, Science and fifth subject of applicant’s choice. For Class XII compulsory subjects are English, Maths/Physics/ Economics/ Accountancy/ Computer Science/Informatics Practices and two subjects of applicant’s choice) or equivalent grades from a recognized Central/State Board/University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Students appearing in the final examination of 10+2 may also apply. However, the admission will be provisional subject to achieving the minimum marks.
  • Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin/Non-Resident Indian candidates can be considered for admission on the basis of their marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination only.
  • It may however be noted that possessing minimum qualification does not guarantee admission. University carries out a holistic evaluation of all achievements and takes a decision accordingly. The median 12th class marks among students admitted to BCA last year was around 72%.
For BBA Programme
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in both Class X & XII or equivalent grades. For class X marks, five subjects will be considered. Four compulsory subjects are English, Maths, Social Studies, and Science. In case, 10th board has more than five subjects, the fifth subject will be of applicant’s choice. For Class XII marks, four subjects will be considered. English is compulsory subject. Other three subjects will be of applicant’s choice.  Candidate should have passed classes 10th and 12th from a recognized Central/State Board/University in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Students appearing in the final examination of 10+2 may also apply. However, the admission will be provisional subject to achieving the minimum marks.
  • Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin/Non-Resident Indian candidates can be considered for admission on the basis of their marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination only.
  • It may however be noted that possessing minimum qualification does not guarantee admission. University carries out a holistic evaluation of all achievements and takes a decision accordingly. The median 12th class marks among students admitted to BBA last year was around 80%.
  • As part of holistic evaluation of student applications, in case of exceptional students, VC may approve a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum requirement for a programme.



For B.Des. Programme
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in both Class X & XII or equivalent grades. For class X marks, five subjects will be considered. Four compulsory subjects are English, Maths, Social Studies, and Science. In case, 10th board has more than five subjects, the fifth subject will be of the applicant’s choice. For Class XII marks, four subjects will be considered. English is a compulsory subject. Other three subjects will be of the applicant’s choice. Candidates should have passed classes 10th and 12th from a recognised Central/ State Board/ University in India or in any foreign country recognised as equivalent to 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Students appearing in the final examination of 10+2 may also apply. However, the admission will be provisional subject to achieving the minimum marks.
  • The applicants are required to appear in one of the Design Entrance Tests from NID-DAT or UCEED. In case the student has not appeared for either, he/she must appear for JKLU-DET.
  • Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin/Non-Resident Indian candidates can be considered for admission on the basis of their marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination only.
  • It may however be noted that possessing minimum qualification does not guarantee admission. University carries out a holistic evaluation of all achievements and takes a decision accordingly.
