- Project Management Skills for Budding Managers
JKLU’s Institute of Management organized an expert talk themed “Project Management Skills for Budding Managers” on March 9, 2022. The expert for the occasion was Mr. Pawan Kumar Jha, Senior General Manager, Integra Software Solutions Pondicherry. Successful handling of projects is a key role demand for mangers in the business world. Therefore, understanding what it takes to manage demanding projects in the context of business, was planned to provide direction to the budding managers in developing the needed skills. Mr Jha stressed the importance of certain skills in successful project management, viz asking relevant questions, effective communication, negotiation skills, time management, leadership towards taking responsibility, technical knowledge, risk management, critical thinking and taking feedback from clients. He illustrated it by citing anecdotes from his personal success and failures how presence or absence of the mentioned skills determined the results. The session, which was followed by an interactive question and answer round, was attended by over 80 BBA and MBA students and faculty members. The session was coordinated and moderated by Dr. Upasana Singh, Assistant Professor, IM.
- Critical Information Instructure and Impact of Denial-of-Service Attack
An interactive session was held on March 24, 2022, in which Dr Divya Bansal, Professor CSE, Punjab Engineering College spoke on evolution of critical infrastructure and its role in providing reliable services, social interactions and data generation through social websites, TCP/IP layer concepts, Denial of Services Attacks and its impact. CSE and ECE students of BTech VI semester interacted with the expert and showed interest for long term discussions.
- Marketing in a Digital World
JKLU’s Institute of Management organized an expert talk themed ‘Marketing in a Digital World’ on March 29, 2022. The expert for the occasion was Ms Nidhi Yadav, Associate Director, Consulting, Deloitte India. The session started with understanding the journey of marketing as a key function of business and how the marketing landscape is evolving fast. She highlighted that in digitized business scenario, marketing is not just data driven but more about managing customer expectation, experience and building trust. She elaborated on broad spectrum of digital marketing tools and how marketer can optimize the benefit of accessing, engaging and retaining customers. She stressed that digital marketing is beyond like, share and comment business and an individual, willing to make career in the domain, needs to continuously keep tab of technical innovations and disruption shaping digital marketing. Ms Nidhi shared the success story of “Khatabook” and “Credo” which gained strong presence in market due to well implemented digital marketing plans. 85 students from different programs of the university participated. Students asked varied questions reflecting their interest and curiosity to delve deeper in the topic and explore its different aspects. The session was coordinated and moderated by Dr. Upasana Singh, Assistant Professor, IM.
