Institute of Management
Shubham Ranjan is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Management, JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU), Jaipur. He completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, with a doctoral thesis titled “Intersection of Gender and Diabetes in India: Determinants and Consequences.” His research examines how socio-economic, psychological, and physical health factors influence life satisfaction among diabetes patients in India. His academic interests lie in health economics, gender studies, and public health, with a focus on understanding social and economic determinants of well-being. Shubham teaches courses in economics, business statistics, and data analysis, integrating real-world applications with analytical and software-based learning. He actively incorporates tools such as MS Excel, Stata, RStudio, and SPSS to strengthen students’ quantitative and decision-making abilities. Currently, his research extends to developing a Health Insurance Equity Index (HIEI) to evaluate disparities in healthcare access, utilization, and financial protection across India. He is passionate about evidence-based policymaking and experiential teaching, and strives to bridge research and practice to promote inclusive and sustainable development.
