The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur successfully celebrated National Science Day 2026 at the IET Amphitheatre. The event was organized under the theme: “Nobel Prize Discoveries & The Spirit of Scientific Excellence”
The celebration aimed to foster scientific temperament, promote innovation, and inspire students to appreciate the remarkable contributions of Nobel Laureates to science and society.
Poster Presentation and Evaluation
The programme commenced at with an engaging Poster Presentation and Evaluation Session, where students showcased their creativity and scientific understanding aligned with the event theme. The posters reflected originality, conceptual clarity, and strong communication skills.
Welcome Address
The formal session began with welcome of the Chief Guest, followed by a brief introduction highlighting the significance of National Science Day and the importance of scientific excellence.
Addressing the students during his welcome address, Prof. Vijaysekhar Chellaboina, Vice Chancellor, JKLU said, “Do not worry about placements. Focus on becoming scientifically excellent. When you achieve excellence in knowledge, research, and innovation, jobs will automatically follow.”
Expert Talk
A major highlight of the event was the Expert Talk on “Recent Nobel Prize Discoveries in Science” by chief guest of the event Dr. Manish Shrimali, Professor & Dean, Department of Physics, Central University, Rajasthan.
The talk provided valuable insights into groundbreaking scientific advancements and their global impact. The session was highly informative and inspired students to pursue excellence in academics, research and innovation.
Quiz Competition
The enthusiasm continued with an exciting Quiz Competition, where students actively participated and demonstrated their scientific awareness and analytical skills.
Prize Distribution Ceremony
The event culminated with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, recognizing outstanding student contributions in the Poster Presentation.

February 28 is observed annually across India as National Science Day to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by eminent Indian physicist C. V. Raman in 1928.
