JKLU hosted renowned technology leader Mr. Babu Turumella on August 17 and 18 for a two-day engagement focused on emerging technologies, industry expectations and the future of engineering.
The visit featured a talk on “Technology Trends & Artificial Intelligence” and two Masterclasses for B.Tech Semester I and Semester III students, offering them valuable perspectives on the skills and competencies they should develop during their undergraduate journey. The sessions explored evolving industry expectations, the rapid growth of the semiconductor industry and the emergence of AI factories, along with the transformative role of artificial intelligence in the technology landscape.
As part of the visit, Turumella also met with the Vice Chancellor; Dean, Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET); Head, CGLP; and the Programme Coordinator for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) to discuss AI concepts that could be integrated into the curriculum. He further interacted with IET faculty members on opportunities for industry-oriented projects and potential areas of collaboration. The sessions received an overwhelming response from students and faculty members, making the two-day engagement an enriching learning experience. The visit not only exposed the JKLU community to current and emerging trends in the global technology industry but also strengthened the University’s industry-academia interface.
