HackJKLU v5.0: Three-Day Hackathon Concludes at JKLU

The fifth edition of HackJKLU, the annual technology festival at JK Lakshmipat University successfully concluded on March 15. The hackathon, which spanned over three days, brought together talented students from across the country onto a single stage. With diverse skill sets and perspectives, participants collaborated to tackle real-world challenges related to technology, society, and the future.

Throughout the event, students engage in intense brainstorming, hands-on building, and continuous iteration guided by experienced mentors and industry experts present on site. The event received over 800 registrations from 14 states and more than 70 institutions across India, highlighting its growing national reach. On campus, around 400 participants from nearly 40 institutions took part in the hackathon.

Participants developed solutions to problem statements across domains such as AI/ML, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Data Science, and FinTech. Teams were evaluated by a panel of industry experts and faculty members, ensuring strong academic and industry alignment. Throughout the hackathon, participants also received mentorship from industry professionals, helping them refine their ideas and build practical solutions.

Winners

While the top three teams secured the primary rewards, headlined by a Rs 50,000 first prize, the event also recognized specialized excellence through domain-specific awards.

The top honours of the hackathon went to team Mirage from The LNM Institute of Information Technology. Team Octane from JKLU bagged the 1st Runner-Up position and the 2nd runner up team was Neuronest from Arya College of Engineering and IT.

Teams were honored for standout projects in four different domains: Artificial Intelligence (Synergy Squad from Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal), Blockchain (HackerX from Poornima University) FinTech (Team Paradise from JKLU), and Cybersecurity (TechShakti from JECRC University).

Parallel Events

To create a vibrant techfest atmosphere, more than 10 student clubs organized parallel events including Dance Battle, Open Mic, Jamming Night, Block Printing, Drama Skit, 3D-VR Experience, Gaming Setups, Red Bull F1 Simulator, Media Maze Decoders, CP Code Battle, and Jupiter Sightseeing by the Astronomy Club.

The Institute of Engineering and Technology also hosted a panel discussion titled “Reimagining Academia, Industry, and Research in the AI Era,” featuring AI researchers and academicians. The event also included a talk on High-Performance Computing in AI by a scientific staff member from the Technical University of Munich.

Additionally, students attended a career-focused session on preparing for interviews in the AI era by YouTuber Keerthi Purswani.

Bringing the hackathon to a thunderous close, singer Maan Panu delivered an electrifying performance that had the crowd dancing and cheering to his popular tracks.
