The Centre for Communication and Critical Thinking organized a field-based learning event, “Locating Ecology in Tradition: Learning from the Field,” on 26 April at Panna Meena Kund and Elephant Village, Amer, Jaipur, as part of the course Policy, Ecology, and Justice (IL1220).
The visit was designed to help students explore Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and alternative ecological perspectives for a sustainable future through engagement with traditional architecture, habitats and local livelihoods around the Amer Fort region. A key highlight of the visit was direct interaction with local inhabitants, which enabled students to gain practical insights into lived realities, community knowledge systems and challenges in policy approaches to sustainability and justice.
