2. JOB PURPOSE:
To oversee the comprehensive management and operations of all university hostels, ensuring the safety, discipline, and well-being of resident students. This role requires organizational skills, empathy, and strong administrative capabilities to maintain a supportive and secure living environment.
3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Hostel Operations & Administration:
- Oversee the functioning of all hostels on campus, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, discipline and student wellbeing.
- Be a supportive and collaborative team member with strong team spirit, and provide effective support in carrying out Warden responsibilities for hostels with a student capacity of more than 300 students.
- Ensure the implementation of hostel policies and procedures in line with university guidelines.
2. Student Welfare & Discipline:
- Maintain a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for resident students.
- Address grievances, behavioral concerns, and emergencies effectively and with empathy.
- Monitor attendance, night-outs, and leave systems in coordination with the wardens.
3. Coordination:
- Coordinate with other departments such as security, housekeeping, and maintenance for hostel-related requirements.
4. Administrative Oversight:
- Maintain records of occupancy, room allocations, student discipline, and other hostel-related documentation.
- Prepare periodic reports on hostel functioning and submit them to the Chief Warden.
5. Event & Community Building:
- Encourage and support student-led initiatives, cultural and recreational events in hostels.
- Foster a positive and homely living experience for students.
6. Compliance & Emergency Handling:
- Ensure fire safety, first aid readiness, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Be available on call for any emergency situations involving hostel residents.

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from a recognized university
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hostel or campus management.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Working knowledge of hospitality and logistics operations
- Proficient in MS Office and administrative tools
- Customer-focused with problem-solving attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities
