National Technology Day

Description:

Technology has been affecting life on earth, and every now and then, a new technology output has been introduced. On May 11, 1998,  India successfully tested its very  first nuclear-capable missile at Rajasthan’s Pokhran test range. The Operation Shakti initiative in Pokhran tested two more successful missiles. Apart from the nuclear tests, India’s first aircraft-the Hansa 3-took flight in Bengaluru. Also, DRDO enhanced the importance of the day by successfully completing the test-fire sessions of India’s Surface-to-Air Trishul missile. With so many achievements on that same day, the then Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, declared May 11 as the “National Technology Day”. Then onwards, each year, India has been celebrating its National Technology Day on 11 May proudly. JKLU also celebrated the day by organizing a quiz on “National Technology Day” in IET Amphitheatre on May 11, May 2022. There were 25 participant from all streams and all batches. The quiz session was initiated by Dr Amit Sinhal and Dr Sonal Jain. The top two winners of the quiz were Lakhan Sharma (BTech-3rd Year) and Navneet Gupta (BTech-3rd Year). E-certificates were issued to every participant by JKLU-IIC.
