Why Jaipur Design Week 2025 at JKLU Is the Creative Festival You Can’t Miss

As the countdown begins for Jaipur Design Week 2025 at JK Lakshmipat University, excitement is building across design circles in India and beyond. From April 6 to 13, the university’s vibrant campus will transform into a buzzing hub of creativity, collaboration, and engaging conversations.

“More than just a design festival, Jaipur Design Week is a curated celebration of ideas—where boundaries blur between disciplines, and inspiration flows freely between students, educators, and professionals,” said Professor A. Balasubramaniam, Director, Institute of Design, JK Lakshmipat University.

This year’s edition brings together an extraordinary constellation of design minds.  Prominent among them is Param Venkataraman, behavioral design expert and co-founder of 3 Big Things, who will deliver the keynote address. With over 27 years of experience spanning IDEO, Tata Digital, Dr Reddy’s and Fractal.ai, Venkataraman is known for marrying strategy with human-centered innovation. His session will set the tone for a week that will celebrate the power of empathy, mindfulness, curiosity and imagination.

But that’s just the beginning.

The JDW 2025 schedule is packed with signature sessions, candid conversations, and immersive workshops, including (D)Construct—a hands-on series led by designers who believe in learning by doing.

“(D) Construct is the name of our special workshops during Jaipur Design Week 2025 that is conducted by designers who are ready to give back to education by showing and doing,” Professor Balasubramaniam said.

Participants will have the rare chance to build, experiment, and reflect under the mentorship of icons like Aaquib Wani, Vaibhav Kumaresh, Soo Basu (Salesforce), and Siddharth Bathla (The Design Factory). These sessions don’t just teach tools—they unlock ways of thinking.

Open Studios, a core pillar of JDW, transports attendees into deep explorations of emerging fields such as Game Design, Service Design, Animation, Political Branding, and more. Over four days, 10 professionals will mentor students through projects that reflect the present and provoke the future—making this one of the most fulfilling experiences of the entire week.

Throughout the festival, the ThoughtSpot series will offer a platform for real-world reflections and industry stories—from “The Journey of Ather Energy” with Shantanu Jog, to “From Failure to Forbes” with self-taught design maverick Aaquib Wani, to Vaibhav Kumaresh’s delightful dive into animation and storytelling. Whether it’s strategy, humor, branding, or behavioural insights, every session has something for anyone with a design lens.

Film screenings, mentoring huddles, candid discussions on academic pathways, and lighthearted yet deeply insightful panels like “The Corporate Designer’s Survival Handbook” will ensure that every moment at JDW is packed with relevance, learning, and joy.

A highlight of the week will be the Emerging Designer of the Year recognition. This year’s recipient, Manan Pahwa, embodies the very spirit of innovation that Jaipur Design Week stands for. A graduate of NID Ahmedabad, Manan’s rapid transition from industrial design to service and behavioral design in just four years has made him a name to watch. A committed mentor, thoughtful practitioner, and bold thinker, he is proof that the future of design is in capable hands.

As Jaipur Design Week 2025 edges closer, one thing is certain—this is not just an event, it’s an experience. With an unmatched lineup, an open community, and an ethos rooted in experimentation, JDW promises to once again be a landmark celebration of design that shapes minds and moves industries.

Don’t just attend. Immerse. Explore. Transform. Jaipur Design Week 2025 is where the future of design unfolds—and you don’t want to miss it.
