Experience

Dr. Arpan Gupta is Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, JKLU. He completed his B.Tech. in Information Technology from SRMCEM, Lucknow followed by M.Tech. In CSE from LNMIIT, Jaipur.

 

He obtained his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from LNMIIT, Jaipur. Prior to joining JKLU, he also worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Algo8 AI Pvt. Ltd. His research interest lies in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, especially in activity understanding in sports videos.

Honours, Awards, and Affiliations
  • GATE qualified. Rank 2526 in the year 2014.
  • Team secured 2nd place at the Xerox Research Mortality Prediction Challenge, 2015 conducted at Hackerrank. Internship of 15 days at Xerox Research Centre India and participation in the second round of the challenge.
  • Represented UP State in National Junior Chess Championship, 2004 at Chennai and National Sub-Junior Chess Championship, 2005 at Kozhikode.
  • Won numerous awards at the inter-school, inter-collegiate, district and state chess championships, and participated in national level chess tournaments.

  • Presented the paper titled “Temporal Cricket Stroke Localization from Untrimmed Highlight Videos” in ICVGIP 2018 at IIIT Hyderabad in December, 2018.
  • Presented the paper titled “Action Recognition from Optical Flow Visualizations” in CVIP-WM 2017 held at IIT Roorkee (GNEC) in September, 2017.
  • Attended two day workshop on Deep Learning and parallel architectures by NVIDIA at MNIT Jaipur in Oct, 2017.
  • Presented a paper titled “Song Prediction using Apache Spark” in ICACCI-2016, held at Fourth Author LNMIIT, Jaipur in September, 2016. Published in Proceedings of IEEE.
