Software Engineering & Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Recently, the IT Industry has shifted towards business process automation. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is one of the widely adopted techniques not only in the IT industries but also in the non-IT industries to automate their monotonous and laborious tasks to gain efficiency, accuracy, and cost management. Mobile Computing is the ability to use portable computing devices in wireless enabled networks to stay connected and access data while on the move. The course objective is to provide students with an understanding of mobile computing technologies and how these technologies are utilised and integrated to meet specific business needs. Embedded Systems and IoT

Embedded system developers write code that powers refrigerators, printers, ovens, or toasters that makes everyone’s life easier. The embedded coding runs before the operating system even loads. These developers work on the operating system in real-time and write the real hardware code to function correctly. They work closely with hardware engineers because they write device drivers. Embedded system developers can look forward to a bright future. Qualcomm, Intel, Tata Elxsi, HCL Technologies all of these companies hire embedded software engineers.

 

Simultaneously, IoT is making significant strides as more things are getting connected to the internet. Many experts predict that two-third of the new businesses will be dependent on IoT by the end of this year. Keeping this in mind, IoT offers the potential for a “fourth industrial revolution.” IoT ecosystem consists of intelligent devices that are web-enabled and use embedded systems such as sensors, processors, and communication hardware that collect the information and then share, analyse the data they collect and then act on it. The data obtained by the sensors of an IoT in the environment is shared by connecting to an IoT gateway that sends the data to the cloud for analysis. The data is analysed locally. These devices can often connect to similar devices and share the information and then act on the data they acquire from each other.

Information Security

The technological growth, the Internet, and availability and sharing of information have tremendously increased information threats to organisations and individuals making it a challenge for users and system administrators to preserve security. Due to the requirement of sophisticated knowledge and tools to keep systems secure, there is a big need in India and around the world for information security professionals who are well educated about the various aspects of information security. The emergence of Information Security has resulted in the opening of various professional avenues for young professionals, creating a market ready for young IT graduates who can understand the risks involved in data security. With lucrative packages, data security has become the new professional direction for many students.

 

Information Security specialisation will enable students to attain an in-depth knowledge of system and/or managerial aspects of information security, so that they can actively contribute to the prevention, detection and management of security threats, and/or the development of secured systems. Cloud Computing

Cloud computing (or ‘on-demand computing’) is a key distributed systems paradigm which has been gained much attention during the last few years. Cloud computing is a type of Internet-based computing, where data, information and shared resources are made available to computers and other devices on-demand. Cloud technologies are ubiquitous, affecting our routine lives any moment we access the World Wide Web, use a mobile app, or go for online transactions. Cloud computing and storage solutions provide users and enterprises with numerous competencies to store and process their data in third-party data centers. Cloud computing is a model for facilitating pervasive, suitable, on-demand network access to a common pool of configurable computing resources such as webs, servers, storage, applications and services that can be quickly provisioned and freed with nominal management effort.

 

Cloud computing offers many job types, from administrator roles to development-focused opportunities. Cloud-based systems contain huge amounts of data, making security essential. Jobs typically consist of making and implementing security strategies both internally and in partnership with cloud service providers in addition to monitoring systems for potential threats. Industry with its own regulatory protocols, such as healthcare or government need to integrate those security procedures into company’s cloud system. Cloud software engineers, specialise in developing software based on cloud service architectures and their underlying systems.

Admission Details

Selection of a student at JKLU will be finalised after a series of evaluative steps.

  • Submission of the application form with required details.
  • Personal Interaction Round with Faculty, provided the student meets the eligibility criteria.
  • Merit-based assessment of candidates, focusing on attitude and aptitude, to help them benefit from the unique learning experience at JKLU.
  • A minimum of 60% marks in English, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry in class XII.
  • Additionally, a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics in class XII.
  • Students in their final examination of class XII may apply; however, admission will be provisional, subject to achieving the minimum marks.
  • Marks awarded by a recognized Central/State Board/University Examination in India or any foreign country recognized as
    equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) will be considered.
  • Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin/Non-Resident Indian candidates can be considered for admission based on
    their marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination only.

  • University reserves the right to increase academic fee by a maximum of 10% annually.
  • Transport fees is 49,500 per year.
  • The above-mentioned fee as applicable to citizens of India and SAARC Countries.
  • Hostel and Transport Charges are on annual basis and subject to yearly revision.
  • Hostel charges for one academic year and the students are not allowed to leave the hostel during the semester.
  • Hostel fee, as above, is applicable to all boarding students.
  • Hostel rooms are on twin sharing basis.
  • Hostel security deposit of ₹5,000 would be payable along with first year’s fees. It is refundable at the time of leaving the Hostel.
