Objective
M.Tech. in Automation and Robotics at JKLU prepares graduates in the field who will be able to:
- Conceive, design, implement and manage automation systems by using principles of physical computing, control, and automation, mechatronics, and robotics, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, and state-of-the-art components and tools.
- Serve in the fields of industrial automation, robotics, systems engineering, IT and engineering services, education, research, etc.

Career Prospects
Industry 4.0 relies heavily on automation as it has set ambitious goals for boosting efficiency. Automation is used in various businesses like manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture and food, transportation, and many others. There are many companies in India that use automation systems and robots for various applications in manufacturing, life sciences, aerospace engineering, agricultural applications, surveillance, and disaster management. New applications involving use of drones and robots for delivery of parcels, medicines, and accessing hazardous or risky zones are being explored. Since a large number of multinational companies lay emphasis on the use of technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Automation and Control Systems and various other high-end technologies, the opportunities for Automation and Robotics engineers have become unlimited. Pharmaceuticals, Food Industry, Chemical Plants, Automobile industry, Oil and Gas companies, Energy and utilities are a few of such sectors.
The automation technologies require skills like industrial IoT, robotics, machine learning etc. Some of the skills that are identified with this programme are:
