Biography

Rijul Chaturvedi is a final-year Ph.D. candidate in Marketing Management at the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai. With a strong academic foundation in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech) and Marketing & Operations (M.Tech) from National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to marketing research and teaching. Before joining the doctoral program, he served as an Academic Associate at IIM Indore and worked with BYJU’S on promoting AI-based learning platforms.

His research focuses on the intersection of marketing and emerging technologies, particularly AI companions, customer experience, and avatar marketing. His thesis explores how digital companionship—both human and AI—shapes online shopping behaviour. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as California Management Review, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Psychology & Marketing, and presented at global conferences including INFORMS and AMA.

Rijul has also contributed to community outreach initiatives. Through informal association with awareness campaigns in Jaipur, he has supported efforts to educate the public about consumer rights, digital fraud, and the ethical use of AI. These experiences have further deepened his understanding of technology's societal impact.

A recipient of several research grants and fellowships, he actively reviews for leading journals and conferences. His teaching emphasizes experiential learning, critical thinking, and the practical application of marketing concepts in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
