With a strong academic foundation in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech) and Marketing & Operations (M.Tech) from National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to marketing research and teaching. Before joining the doctoral program, he served as an Academic Associate at IIM Indore and worked with BYJU’S on promoting AI-based learning platforms.
His research focuses on the intersection of marketing and emerging technologies, particularly AI companions, customer experience, and avatar marketing. His thesis explores how digital companionship—both human and AI—shapes online shopping behaviour. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as California Management Review, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Psychology & Marketing, and presented at global conferences including INFORMS and AMA.
Rijul has also contributed to community outreach initiatives. These experiences have further deepened his understanding of technology's societal impact.
