Dr. Mahesh Kumar Yadav is affiliated to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, J K Lakshmipat University Jaipur Rajasthan since August 2022. He completed B.E. (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College Bikaner Rajasthan, and M. Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Subsequently, he earned a doctoral degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur under the supervision of Prof. Sameer Khandekar. The doctoral work is aimed at understanding the long-term passive nuclear reactor containment cooling of Indian PHWR. The work was supported through two sponsored projects, written by Dr. Yadav with the Ph.D. supervisor, of INR 18.15 million from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Mumbai. Post-Ph.D., Dr. Yadav has worked as Assistant Professor at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, a prestigious 100 years old institute, for three years from 2019 - 2022.
He has supervised 02 M.Tech theses in the domain of hydrogen energy and 06 undergraduate projects. Additionally, he has made significant contributions to the revision of UG/PG curricula and NBA accreditation, playing an active role in strengthening the department, alongside his regular undergraduate teaching responsibilities.
Dr. Yadav has 09 high-quality international journal publications, 12 national/international conference papers, 02 international book chapters, and 01 invited talk to his credit. He is serving as a reviewer in different international journals and got an Outstanding Reviewer Award 2020 by the Measurement Science and Technology journal. A conference publication of Dr. Yadav at the 27th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering (ICONE-27), Japan has been awarded the Student Best Poster Award by American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) and Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS). He is also a life member of the Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer (ISHMT) and The Institution of Engineers (India). His current research interests include hydrogen management and mitigation, nuclear reactor containment cooling, experimental phase-change thermo-fluidic systems, and inverse heat transfer measurements.
