The Literary Club, The Muse Ink, successfully conducted the third chapter of its annual heritage exploration event, Pink City Expedition, on 13 April 2025.

This unique initiative aims to blend history with storytelling by taking students to iconic locations around Jaipur and helping them discover the rich literary, cultural, and historical narratives woven into the city’s fabric.

Event Highlights

Visit to Panna Meena ka Kund

The day began with a visit to the stunning stepwell, Panna Meena ka Kund. Known for its symmetrical staircases and peaceful ambiance, the site gave participants a glimpse into ancient water conservation systems and Mughal-era architecture. Club members shared fascinating stories and lesser-known facts about the stepwell's historical significance and architectural style.

Exploring Jaigarh Fort

Following the stepwell visit, the group headed to the majestic Jaigarh Fort. Overlooking the Aravalli hills and the Amber Fort complex, Jaigarh offered both scenic views and intriguing stories from Jaipur’s royal past. Students explored its vast courtyards, watchtowers, and the world’s largest cannon on wheels – Jaivana. The members discussed the fort’s strategic importance, legends of hidden treasures, and its role in Rajput history.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The expedition encouraged participants to look at literature and history from a new perspective—outside textbooks and into the world around them. It was not just an outing, but a living classroom where culture, art, and history came alive through storytelling, guided observations, and thoughtful discussions.

An Enriching Experience

The event concluded with a collective reflection session, where students shared what they learned, observed, and felt throughout the day. It was a memorable and enriching experience that deepened their appreciation for Jaipur’s heritage and fostered a deeper connection with the literary and cultural essence of the Pink City.
