The National Science Day 2025 was celebrated on February 28, 2025, with great enthusiasm and intellectual fervor.

The program began with a warm welcome from the event hosts, who extended their greetings to the esteemed gathering. The host highlighted the significance of the day, acknowledging the immense contributions of the renowned physicist Sir C. V. Raman. On February 28, 1928, Sir Raman discovered the Raman Effect, a groundbreaking achievement that earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930, solidifying India’s prominent position on the global scientific map.

The event then progressed with the host highlighting the profound impact of science and technology in addressing the challenges faced by the nation. The theme for this year, "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat," was emphasized. The importance of fostering curiosity, innovation, and the pursuit of knowledge, as well as the critical role of nurturing young talent in driving India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, was highlighted

Mr. Prem Singh Ji, President and Group HR of JK Organisation, and a special invitee to the event invited to address the gathering. His insightful speech focused on India's growth story, the vision for a 2047 Vikshit Bharat, and the pivotal role that technocrats, scientists, and especially the youth will play in realizing this transformation. His talk was both inspiring and thought-provoking, setting the tone for the rest of the session. Following Prem Singh Ji’s address, Prof. Sanghi, Vice Chancellor of the university highlighted the importance of science and technology in shaping the future of India and inspired the audience with his words on leadership and innovation.

The highlight of the event was an invited talk by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Jha, an expert in CSR, sustainability, and environmental impact. Mr. Jha, who currently leads CSR and Sustainability at JK Lakshmi Cement, shared his extensive knowledge on sustainable development and carbon footprint. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Jha discussed how businesses and individuals can contribute to creating a more sustainable future. He specifically elaborated on JK Lakshmi Cement's efforts to reduce pollution, transition to renewable energy, and promote decarbonization in their operations. His talk was deeply engaging and provided a clear vision of how organizations and society can work together to address the pressing environmental challenges of our time while contributing to the national mission of Vikshit Bharat 2047

Post the invited talk, the mood shifted to a more interactive and competitive atmosphere with the Science Quest Quiz Competition. The quiz tested the participants' knowledge of science and innovation. The competition was engaging, with students displaying their enthusiasm and knowledge in various scientific domains. The excitement was palpable as the participants vied for the chance to showcase their knowledge and won exciting goodies.

The prize distribution ceremony followed, where the winners of the pre-event presentation, Ideas in Motion, were announced. The awardees of the event are:

Winners: Vaibhav Chauhan and Shrashti Chauhan for their presentation, “Avian Oasis: Sustainable Bird Habitat and Eco-Tourism Platform”

Runners-up: Palak Srivastava and Bhupathi Likhitha for their presentation, “Natural Cleaning Product”

The event concluded with a group photo session to capture this memorable occasion, followed by the Vote of Thanks. With inspiring talks and an engaging quiz, the event not only encouraged everyone to continue exploring, innovating, and contributing to a brighter and sustainable future for India but also reinforced the importance of innovation and responsibility toward a sustainable planet.
