Jaipur Design Week 2025: Shaping Futures Through Design
Jaipur Design Week (JDW) 2025, hosted by the Institute of Design at JK Lakshmipat University, was held from April 6th to April 13th and once again transformed the pink city into a vibrant nexus of creativity, collaboration, and design thinking.

The weeklong celebration brought together over 400 participants, including students, educators, professionals, and design enthusiasts from across the country.

This year, JDW continued to push the boundaries of interdisciplinary design engagement with its compelling mix of Open Studios, ThoughtSpot talks, panel discussions, interactive workshops, exhibitions, and community-building events. The week not only showcased the work of talented emerging designers but also facilitated meaningful conversations around the transformative power of design.

These sessions emphasized the evolving nature of design roles in corporate, civic, and educational contexts.

Exhibition & Design Haat: The JDW 2025 exhibition space was home to Exhibition, which featured exceptional student works across various domains, offering a platform for emerging talent to showcase innovative ideas.

Alongside the exhibition, Design Haat buzzed with energy as attendees explored and purchased exclusive JDW merchandise. A range of student-designed products, prints, and accessories generated a total revenue of INR 26,000, contributing to the self-sustaining spirit of the event.

Emerging Designer of the Year Award This year, the title was awarded to Manan Pahwa for their bold and thoughtful design explorations, which demonstrated exceptional promise and innovation.

The Design Bridge: ADI Mentor Connect In collaboration with ADI - Jaipur, JDW hosted "The Design Bridge," a mentor-connect initiative that allowed students to engage in meaningful conversations with top industry professionals across fields like architecture, product design, visual communication, and UX. A total of 15 design mentors participated in the initiative.

Sponsorship and Support JDW 2025 received generous support from its partners and collaborators. A notable contribution of INR 40,000 is promised by the University of Iowa, helping support guest speakers, event logistics, and community dinners. Their partnership emphasized the growing global connection and relevance of JDW.

Conclusion Jaipur Design Week 2025 was a dynamic celebration of design's potential to inspire, empower, and create change. From school students getting their first taste of design thinking to seasoned professionals reimagining futures, JDW created a space for learning, exchange, and joy. As we look ahead, the Institute of Design at JKLU reaffirms its commitment to nurturing creative leaders who will shape a more inclusive, sustainable, and imaginative world.
