Electronics and Communication Engineering and Make in India Policy

With the demand for electronic hardware expected to rise rapidly to US$400 billion by 2020, India has the potential to become an electronic manufacturing hub. The government is targeting to achieve net zero imports of electronics by 2020 by creating a level playing field and providing an enabling environment. In fact, in the next decade demand for engineers is expected to grow by 11 percent to meet the requirement of Make in India Initiative. In view of this, JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) has come up with a new Cluster Innovation Centre offering a four-year B.Tech. programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering to produce industry ready professionals.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, JKLU has signed a MoU with Texas Instruments to set up Texas Instruments Innovation Center (TIIC) under TI University Program to have a greater hand on experience in technologies related to Embedded systems, Ultra Low Power Applications, Analog System Design and Internet of Things (IOT). These programs would go a long way to get the students hands on project experience in state of the art Micro-controller boards which are being developed by Texas Instruments. The experience will include hands on software and hardware skills which are highly desired by industry. Incorporating TI technology into curriculum provides an experiential appreciation of the latest technologies giving the students significant edge across multiple dimensions like, knowledge, enhanced employability, project experience, etc.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, JKLU also offer degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialization in Enterprise IT in association with RedHat. RedHat is currently associated with approximately 25 universities / colleges under the Academy model, JKLU is one of it. The program aims at enhancing the technical skills of engineering students and it is based on industry driven curriculum. Students would be trained for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administration 1, 2 & 3 (RH124, RH134, RH254), JBoss Developer 1 & JBoss Systems Administration 1 (JB225, JB248) and Red Hat Open Stack Enterprise Administrator (CL210) training curriculums and would be prepared to clear EX200, EX300, EX225 & EX248 and EX210 examinations and acquire Red Hat certifications to be qualified as RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE). As the skills learnt can be applied directly to the job, graduates that possess both academic and Red Hat technology skills are in high demand.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of JK Lakshmipat University has been accredited by the NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology) Ajmer for conducting the following Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) courses; Embedded System Design using 8-bit Microcontroller (NL/M/L5/C016),  Post Diploma in VLSI Design, Tools & Technology (NL/M/L5/C017) and  Automation Technology- Intermediate Level (NL/M/L5/C018).  Thus JK Lakshmipat University aims to offer the complete educational spectrum of programs in emerging technologies at the degree levels.
