Education is regarded as one of the most critical component which contributes to social, political, cultural and economic transformation of a community and later a country. The prosperity of any nation is intrinsically linked to its human resources. The strength of a nation is dependent on its intellectual and skillful citizens. But the definition of intellectual and skillful citizens changes from time to time. Like in today’s scenario merely taking a degree or a diploma doesn’t make you skilled, and you need to learn to apply your knowledge in real sense.
Therefore, the responsibility comes upon the system to update the curriculum and the pedagogy as per the demand of the society. Infact major educational reforms could be seen in these areas by the leading institutions. In this technical age of Make in India the most important requirement from a professional graduate is to be industry ready and for that an institution is required to offer industry relevant curriculum and a pedagogy which imparts active learning, team work and problem solving attitude. Recently, there have been plenty of Ransomware attack reports. Due to these Ransomware attacks high-profile companies and business are affected some of them even got shut down. Over the last few years, Ransomware has become one of the largest computer threats for organizations around the world and its ever growing up. Ransomware spams the world; it is indiscriminate in its victims and no interaction with it, because it runs in a handful of seconds from, spreads in organizations and locks their data and computers.
What is Ransomware?
Malwares that causes inaccessibility of data by performing encryption of confidential data and files or by locking the system are called as ransomware. These ransomware creators demand certain amount of ransom money for the decrypting of confidential data and files or for unlocking the system. Even after paying the ransom there is no assurance of confidential data access for the victim. Ransoms are demanded in terms of Bitcoins or physical money or may be something from physical resources. On June 22, 2009, Kevin Ashton introduced a new term “The Internet of Things” (IOT) which has revolutionized the field of electronics engineering. The IOT is a network of smart devices (Fig. 1) that can communicate through internet with other devices/users at remote locations. The applications may vary from pervasive control, health monitoring systems, industrial process control, smart agriculture, food preservation and storage, home security system, smart grid, smart supply chain and many other applications. Overall, the technology facilitates sophisticated living for mankind. Typical architecture of the IOT network is shown in Fig. 2. The sensors collect data from the surroundings and send it to the internet through gateways, hubs or protocols. Various types of middleware like data distribution service (DDS), Zigbee, RFID, Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) and others are used to transport data from sensors to the internet. The data is processed using cloud/fog computing. The processed data may be used at remote for generating alarms or controlling actuators for necessary actions. Continue reading →

Mechanical Engineering is one of the basic branches of engineering and its fundamental principles are used in the design, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems we see around us including but not limited to automobiles, machines in all kind of factories, machinery used in building construction, road construction, agriculture etc. Mechanical engineers are also involved with the design, construction and operations of all kinds of machinery. They conceptualize design for any product to be manufactured. They also develop, test and manufacture the state of the art machinery.
Manufacturing sector encompasses a set of industries to make or produce anything in a factory and therefore, it requires a great deal of specialized knowledge. Mechanical engineers are often referred as manufacturing engineers also as they are recruited by all kinds of companies which manufacture a variety of machines, robotics and other equipment. The mechanical engineers are normally responsible for the design, selection of materials, specifications and the development of production processes and equipment. Responsibility for plant layout, production planning and control, as well as plant maintenance is also a major job responsibility that mechanical engineers undertake. Continue reading →

In today’s enterprise IT scenario, industries and academicians have been talking about skill gaps and have been categorically coining word “unemployable engineers”. When a student takes admission in Computer Science Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering or any other branch, he needs to understand basic science courses, understand all engineering branches as they are tightly coupled with each other, courses related to core discipline in which they are fascinated with and would be drawing their career graph, some management courses and humanities courses to be called and recognized as “Holistic Engineer”. Industry professionals also support and strongly advocate these courses to be part of curriculum.
But the demand of Industry, particularly in Technology sector today is readily employable workforce. This industry is partially product driven and majorly service driven. After adoption of technology by client, business is dependent on service. Certifications are the means to equip oneself with know-how of product and technologies related to that product adopted by wide client-base. Continue reading →
In the restructured environment, electrical utilities are using distributed generation sources and energy-efficient technologies to meet power shortage / power quality issues, which raised the fault level and power surges. The fault current level in many places may often exceed from their withstanding capacity of present infrastructure. Due to poor financial viability, Indian electrical utilities are interested in avoiding up gradation of existing networks with enhancement of network flexibility, sustainability and reliability. Therefore, it is needed to control fault currents to a level at which conventional protection equipment can operate safely with the consideration of financial burden on electric utilities. Looking to the Indian power sector, the fault current limiter (FCL) is a promising option to enhance the useful life of the equipment, even though exceed from their withstands capability. This blog is aimed at describing how the researcher and Best universities in Jaipur like JK Lakshmipat University can support utility engineers for the FCL application.
FCL is adaptable to electrical utility constraints such as location choice, modularity and space availability. Under normal operation, these devices have a negligible impedance until a fault event occurs. They are of two types: Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) and solid-state fault current limiter (SSFCL). SFCL uses superconducting based material to limit fault current while SSFCL controls the same by using high-speed solid-state switching devices. On the basis of fault current limiting capacity, restoration time and voltage sag mitigation parameter, it is observed that the solid-state fault current limiter is more efficient than the solid-state fault current limiter. The Key benefits of fault current limiter are: Continue reading →
After passing 10+2 exams, most confusing task for a student and their parents is to choose college and then branch, especially when they have to choose an engineering college. Everyone wants to take admission in the best engineering college but it is not easy to define best college. Normally people judge the college by its ranking in the media or in the newspapers, placement statics, etc. These ranking are based on the data provided by the institution itself and can vary with the reality. Also the ranking is of institution, not the program. Most of the people don’t understand the placement statics shown by the colleges. The only focus is on the highest package offered (even it was offered to single student).
Another confusion is to choose the program and branch. Students wants to take admission in some other branch or program and parents wants some other. The reason of this confusion is the placement statics of the influence of known or relatives. Continue reading →
