What is Ransomware?

Internet of Things(IoT): The revolution for Electronics Engineers

On June 22, 2009, Kevin Ashton introduced a new term “The Internet of Things” (IOT) which has revolutionized the field of electronics engineering. The IOT is a network of smart devices (Fig. 1) that can communicate through internet with other devices/users at remote locations. The applications may vary from pervasive control, health monitoring systems, industrial process control, smart agriculture, food preservation and storage, home security system, smart grid, smart supply chain and many other applications. Overall, the technology facilitates sophisticated living for mankind.  Typical architecture of the IOT network is shown in Fig. 2. The sensors collect data from the surroundings and send it to the internet through gateways, hubs or protocols. Various types of middleware like data distribution service (DDS), Zigbee, RFID, Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) and others are used to transport data from sensors to the internet. Fault Current Limiter in Indian Power Sector Perspective

In the restructured environment, electrical utilities are using distributed generation sources and energy-efficient technologies to meet power shortage / power quality issues, which raised the fault level and power surges. The fault current level in many places may often exceed from their withstanding capacity of present infrastructure. Due to poor financial viability, Indian electrical utilities are interested in avoiding up gradation of existing networks with enhancement of network flexibility, sustainability and reliability. Therefore, it is needed to control fault currents to a level at which conventional protection equipment can operate safely with the consideration of financial burden on electric utilities. Looking to the Indian power sector, the fault current limiter (FCL) is a promising option to enhance the useful life of the equipment, even though exceed from their withstands capability. FCL is adaptable to electrical utility constraints such as location choice, modularity and space availability. Under normal operation, these devices have a negligible impedance until a fault event occurs. Selection Criteria of Engineering College

After passing 10+2 exams, most confusing task for a student and their parents is to choose college and then branch, especially when they have to choose an engineering college. Everyone wants to take admission in the best engineering college but it is not easy to define best college. Normally people judge the college by its ranking in the media or in the newspapers, placement statics, etc. These ranking are based on the data provided by the institution itself and can vary with the reality.
